Do some introspection
✩ ✩
« Taking time to meditate is simply becoming aware of the lesson learned through work, leisure and social life. Just like the ploughman who sits down for a moment to contemplate the furrowed soil. »
[a reading from Edgar Cayce]
« Man judges himself in the years he has already lived. »
( Alphonse de Lamartine, 'Méditations' )
« It is extremely important to take the time to review our thoughts, our feelings. A regular recapitulation of what we experience contributes to our conscious evolution
The realization of our being
“Every soul must become aware of itself little by little.
In evolution, the mineral will become vegetable, the vegetable will become animal and the animal will become human. This is the long chain of life.
(Hélène Bouvier, medium, “Mission of souls in the afterlife”)
« The purpose of our life during our passage on Earth, and then after our death, in the different worlds of the beyond, is an increasingly complete realization of our being. »
[ Patricia Darré (medium) ]
« The important thing for you is to evolve in order to modify your vibrational state.
The Earth is a domain that allows the soul to modify its vibrations (Cf. Frequencies & vibrations ) through more or less difficult life experiences. »
( R. Terral-Meyer, 'Letters of the Invisible' )

« The cell is a perfect place to get to know yourself and to study constantly and in detail the functioning of your mind and emotions. As individuals we tend to judge our success by external criteria, such as social position, influence, popularity, wealth or level of education. These are of course important concepts for measuring success – and we understand that many try to get the best of themselves on these points. But other internal criteria are perhaps more important in judging the accomplishment of a man or woman. Honesty, sincerity, simplicity, humility, generosity, absence of vanity, the ability to serve others – qualities within the reach of all souls – are the true foundations of our spiritual life.
But this success is not accessible without real introspection and knowledge of one's strengths and weaknesses. Detention at least has the merit of offering a good opportunity to work on one's own conduct, correct the bad and develop the good that we all carry within us. The regular meditation practice, say a quarter of an hour every day before going to bed, can be very useful. It is possible that at first you will have difficulty identifying the negative elements in your life, but you will be rewarded if you make the regular effort. Remember that a saint is a sinner who seeks to improve himself. »

[Letter from Nelson Mandela to his wife after 11 years in prison
(he was sentenced to life in 1964) ]
« The only God who matters for the holiness of our life is the inner God with whom we dialogue, the personal God with whom we have a loving relationship. »
( Mother Teresa )
(...) Holiness is not a luxury for some, but a simple duty for you, for me. »
« Let us remember that our attitudes contribute in a very powerful way to the quality of our life. This mixture of thoughts and feelings operates like a magnet in the spiritual plane. »

Every evening, take stock of yourself
In the evening, before going to sleep, let us review our day.
Have we been honest enough to offer this little encouragement (which costs us so little and gives us so much pleasure)? Or have we been distant or hurtful?
Have we remained silent when someone spoke badly or distorted the truth, or have we had the courage to oppose it?
Have we joined those who mocked (even "kindly") a sensitive person or have we courageously taken their side?
In other words, what have we done or allowed to happen?

The sleep-wake moment
« Every night seeks the truth. »
(Heavenly message received by Jürgenson)
« The personal problems that mar our happiness have grown and evolved with us; they are knots that reveal the difficulties encountered throughout a past life. To undo these knots, a wave of a magic wand is not enough, and there is no ready-made answer. The answer is always a path, work on oneself, where one must be ready to question oneself, to get out of the "victimization" behind which we tend to take refuge. »
[ Patricia Darré (medium) ]
« She [Mother Teresa] took up the humble advice of Thérèse of Lisieux: every evening, take stock of your day. “The conquest of inner good, the work on oneself, that is the real struggle.” »
[ Olympia Alberti - "Mother Teresa, the kingdom of his night" ]
- What is the most effective practical way to improve?
« Recall, every evening, all your actions of the day. Ask yourself what you did right or wrong, and for what purpose. Ask yourself if you did anything that you would blame on the part of others. »
[Message collected by Allan Kardec]
« Taking stock of our days every evening helps us become aware of the thoughts
and actions that have helped to shape us. If what we have done corresponds to our commitments, there is reason to rejoice. If not, regret prevents it from happening again. »
[Dalai Lama]
« Check every evening whether the idea of God has presided over your actions.
(...) Let holiness spring forth in you, ever higher. Thus you go halfway, and I no longer need to descend so low to find you.
(...) Mom, I can't come to you to tell you trivialities. What path did you travel today to come to meet me? »
[Heavenly message from Roland de Jouvenel]
« In times of isolation, one should strive to view and judge the events of one's own life and actions as if they were not one's own doing, but that of others.
If one succeeds in doing this, all one's personal experiences appear to one in a new light. »
[ Rudolf Steiner ]
« Living each day as if it were your last would force you to realize the importance of being on the right path

What is the way?
* *
« What all religious or esoteric teachings call the way , is for those who are tired of being wrong.
The path begins with a complete reversal of our way of seeing. When we have known enough rich, admired and unhappy men and women, we know that money and success do not make happiness and that there must be "something" to understand and find. Conversely, how many people without beauty, without fame, are nevertheless relaxed, at peace and happy. There are beings at once fulfilled and desperate, and beings disgraced or infirm, radiant with joy. Happiness or suffering depends only apparently on external conditions. Happiness or unhappiness is the expression of what we are, not the result of what we have.
The important thing is not to have but to be .
The wise man is free from desire. He has ceased to oppose what we like to what we do not like.
He who, on the contrary, can only feel himself to be on condition of having, is necessarily in competition with those who also covet to have what he desires. For him there is no longer any rest or peace. Having does not only mean having money or material goods, but everything that is combined with this auxiliary: having knowledge, prestige, honors, original ideas, an ideal, an ideology, experiences, friends, admirers, everything that we can call "my" or "mine", everything that can give the illusion of filling the inner void and the nullity of being. »
[Arnaud Desjardins, 'The Paths of Wisdom']
« The way is an immense hospital where those who have recognized and accepted the fact of their illness find themselves. This illness is the illness of the ego, of individualism, which imprisons us in the duality of desires and refusals. »
[Arnaud Desjardins, 'The Paths of Wisdom']
